Marriage biodata for a girl — what to include, with a sample
A good biodata for a girl is short, warm and precise: who she is, what she does, her family, and how to reach them. Below are the rows families usually include, wording you can copy, and a finished sample you can open as a PDF.

A finished sample
This is real output of the maker: a floral cover with her photo, and the details page behind it. Every name and number on it is invented.

The rows, in the order families read them
| Row | How to write it |
|---|---|
| Name | Full name as on documents: “Ananya Sharma”. |
| Date and time of birth | “14 March 1997, 6:45 AM”. Time matters only to families who match kundlis. |
| Place of birth | City and state. |
| Height | Feet and inches: “5′ 4″”. |
| Education | Highest degree first, with the college: “M.Sc. Chemistry, University of Pune”. |
| Occupation | Job title, employer and city: “Research analyst, a pharmaceutical company, Bengaluru”. |
| Father / mother | Name and occupation of each. “Retired” or “homemaker” are fine to write. |
| Siblings | “One elder brother, married, engineer in Pune”. |
| Kundli rows | Optional. See kundli details in a biodata. |
| Contact | A parent's number, and an address line with city only if you prefer. |
Rows like diet, languages spoken or hobbies are welcome but optional. A biodata that fits on one page plus a cover is easier to read than one that runs to three.
About-me lines that sound like a person
One or two sentences are enough. Say what she does, what she enjoys and what she values — not a list of adjectives.
I work as a chemist in Bengaluru and spend weekends learning Kathak and cooking for friends. I am close to my family and value honesty and a sense of humour.
She is a school teacher who loves reading and long walks, calm by nature and very close to her grandparents.
A software engineer who enjoys travel, music and trying new food. Looking forward to building a home with mutual respect and plenty of laughter.

What to leave out
- Weight and complexion, unless your family specifically wants them.
- A full home address — a city and a phone number are enough for a first exchange.
- Long lists of expectations. One kind sentence works better; see partner expectations.
- Old photos or heavily filtered ones. The family will meet her; the photo should match.
Choosing a design
Any design can be used for anyone. Floral covers with a photo are popular for girls' biodatas, but traditional borders and plain modern sheets are just as common. The maker shows her own details on every design before you choose, so pick the one that reads most clearly.
Questions
What should a girl write in her marriage biodata?
Personal details (name, birth, height, education, work), family details (parents, siblings), optional kundli rows, a short about-me line, and a contact number. Keep every row short and true.
Should a girl's biodata have a photo?
Most families expect one. Use a recent, well-lit photo with the face clearly visible. A second page of photos is optional.
Should I mention salary in a girl's biodata?
It is your choice. Many families write the job and employer and leave salary out; others write a yearly figure. Both are normal.
Who should be the contact on the biodata?
Usually a parent, often the father or mother. Some girls add their own number or email as well. Write only numbers that will be answered.
Is complexion necessary?
No. It is an old row that many families now leave out. The form does not require it.
Can parents make the biodata for their daughter?
Yes, most are made by parents or siblings. The about-me line can be written in her voice or about her — both read naturally.
